Actress Parul Yadav, known for her award winning performances in Kannada films, is all set to play the lead in the Kannada remake of Queen. Titled Butterfly, the film was announced on the actress' birthday (June 5). An excited Parul says, “The makers have picked the best girls from the four south film industries to play the lead in all the remakes. I feel privileged to be stepping into Kangana Ranaut's shoes. I'm happy that they look at me as a performer. I don't want to compete with Kangana; I just want to do my best.“

Directed by actor-director Ramesh Aravind, the film is being produced by Manu Kumaran of Mediente International Films and financed by Manoj Kesavan of Liger. Explaining why the remake is titled Butterfly, Ramesh says, “The track of Queen feels like that of a caterpillar getting into a cocoon and metamorphosing into a butterfly. I'll retain the spirit of the story, but will add my own flavour to it.“

Manu adds, “Marriage does not define a woman and Queen breaks that stereotype. Cinema has the power to create social change and that's why this story needs to be told on a larger scale."
