While Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming thriller Bhavesh Joshi, which is Harshvardhan Kapoor’s follow-up to Mirzya, gathered steam last year in the wake of the actor’s debut release, little was known about the project. Now, we hear Nishikant Kamat, who played a drug dealer in Rocky Handsome last year, is returning to the screen for another baddie turn.

The National Award-winning filmmaker was approached for the part early last year and immediately agreed for a look test. He plays politician-criminal Rana in Bhavesh Joshi.

The film marks the acting debut of Shreyah Sabharwal, who plays Harshvardhan’s love interest, Sneha, and also features Priyanshu Painyuli, last seen as Shraddha Kapoor’s brother in Rock On 2!!, in a prominent role.

Shot mostly at various Mumbai locations, the film, which was delayed twice before it finally went on the floors last July, is presently in post-production. The makers are planning a year-end release.

“Harsh’s character Siku sports three looks as he transitions from a young college boy to a macho man fighting corrupt politicians and becoming a vigilante of sorts in the process. Rana and Siku’s face-off forms a crucial part of the film. The high-voltage action sequences were wrapped up earlier this year. Nishikant will sport in a never-seen-before rugged avatar,” a source close to the development informed Mirror.
