After judging and hosting reality shows, Mithun Chakraborty is all set to unravel his funny side on television. BT has it that the yesteryear Bollywood superstar is the latest addition to the cast of Krushna Abhishek's upcoming comedy show.

We had earlier told you how Kapil Sharma's former teammates - Preeti and Neeti Simoes, Ali Asgar, Sugandha Mishra and Sanket Bhosale - had roped in his arch-rival Krushna for a new show. Sudesh Lahiri - Krushna's partner for long - is also part of the laugh riot.

A source associated with the project tells us, “Mithun's role isn't confirmed yet; it's being discussed and will soon be finalised. The title of the show, which was tentatively titled Comedy Company, has also been finalised; it will now be called The Drama Company. The characters of the show aspire to pursue theatre and Mithun will play someone who is instrumental in bringing them together. Also, as opposed to general perception, his role will be nothing like that of Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is seen on The Kapil Sharma Show.“

Mithun confirms the news, saying, “For the first time, I will not be playing myself on TV, but an interesting character with a lot of quirks. After I was informed of the creative details by the makers, the character seemed challenging and totally worth it."
