Looks like the wait has been
worth its while for Sooraj Pancholi. Almost two years after he made his
Bollywood debut with Hero, Nikkhil Advani's remake of the 1983 hit, the
actor has finalised his second outing. We have learnt that his next
release will be an action comedy helmed by Prabhu Dheva.
Though he had a dream debut in Bollywood -launched by none other than Salman Khan - a court case dealt a severe blow to his career plans. Barely months after his first film hit the screens, he was accused of abetting the suicide of his former girlfriend, Jiah Khan. With his career in a limbo ever since, Sooraj's second outing has been fodder for much speculation.
On his part, the actor never let the low phase affect his morale. As he said in a recent interview to BT, “I agree that two years is a long gap, but I am using the time to travel and read, and to prepare myself to be noticed as an artiste. The slow pace of my career doesn't bother me.“
His upcoming film, being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Prashant Gunjalkar (known as PP in Bollywood), is a remake of a South Indian hit. The makers are keeping details of the script under wraps for now.
Sooraj, who has already showcased his action skills in Hero, will not only have some thrilling stunt sequences in the upcoming Prabhu Dheva directorial, but will also get to reveal his funny side. The actor is aware that this film could mark a new beginning in his career, and he is leaving no stone unturned to give it his all when it goes on floors later this year.
