Mohit Suri is known for his pen chant for soulful, melodious music. Be it Aashiqui 2 or Ek Villain, the director has always set the bar high for poignant love songs. Now, “Baarish“ and “Phir Bhi Tumko Chahoonga“ from Half Girlfriend are ruling the musical charts.

With the next song though, Mohit Suri has added a twist to the eclectic Half Girlfriend album. The New York song, “Mere Dil Mein“, will witness protagonists Arjun and Shraddha dancing across key locations of New York City. Visually, the film captures the worlds of Delhi, Bihar and now New York, giving audiences a different feel as the love story progresses. The song is interspersed with Arjun's local dialect as the two of them take to the streets of New York in style! Producer Ekta Kapoor says, “Audiences always look to Mohit Suri for his melodious love tracks, which are beautifully included in the narrative of the film and this time, along with these songs, he's also given a twist to the album! The title has piqued everyone's curiosity so much that we decided to do a 'hatke' title track for it.“

Composed by Rishi Rich, the song “Mere Dil Mein“ is shot extensively across iconic places in New York and also has Arjun and Shraddha dancing at Times Square, which was shot during one of the busiest holidays. The duo is seen having a blast as they dance across New York. While it is an intense love story, the promotional song adds a 'hatke' quirk to it. While Half Girfriend has somewhat become a relationship status for today's generation, the excitement around each song is phenomenal. “I'm truly humbled by all the love pouring in“, director Mohit Suri says.
