Manoj Bajpayee turned 47 on
Sunday and admitted that the outpouring of wishes on the social media
was “humbling“ and though he tried to respond to each personally, it was
“humanly impossible“.
On Saturday night he hosted a dinner for his daughter, Ava Nayla's friends and Sunday was a lazy day at home. “In the evening I took my wife Neha and daughter for a drive and ice cream. When you have a child your life revolves around them and this was more like their birthday than mine,“ he chuckles.
The actor hopes to release his first co-production with Neeraj Pandey, Missing, also featuring Tabu, this year. The film has been in the news since 2015. “Besides Missing there's Sarkar 3, Rookh and my international production Love Sonia. Soon I'll start Neeraj's Aiyaary and am also looking forward to a family vacation,“ he informs, adding that he's not going to be a full-fledged producer anytime soon. “Missing was a lesson and when you attempt something new you make some mistakes but also learn a lot.“
The actor lost a National Award, which many felt he should have won for his performance in Aligarh, to Akshay Kumar's Rustom but won't harp on it. “Why spoil the party for those who won, who are from the same industry? Let them celebrate. But the support I got was encouraging,“ he asserts.
