MUMBAI MIRROR (April 26, 2017)

She glided gracefully from being a supermodel to an actor. And even as she continues doing some exciting work in the film space - including Coffee With D, also featuring Sunil Grover - Dipannita Sharma is now finding exciting roles in the web space. The actress had barely wrapped up her first web series, Untag, that was made by Ashima Chibber of Mere Dad ki Maruti fame for Voot, when she landed her second, ALT Balaji's web-series titled Bewafaa Sii Wafaa, directed by Sonam Nair, the young director who helmed Gippi for Karan Johar. Besides this, Dipannita is in talks with the makers for a couple of more soon-to-be-streamed series that will start rolling once the paperwork is done.

Speaking to Mirror, the actress said that she loves what she is doing currently. “The web space is exciting,'' she says, adding, “You can really push the envelope and cater to a universal audience that likes different stuff. Unlike films, you don't have to worry about what suits the multiplex audience and what is good for the single screens.''

Dipannita, who plays a CEO in Untag, explains how the series is one where people untag from the familiar titles given to them. For instance, it is assumed that a company boss is a ruthless person, but that may not be entirely true. In her second web outing the actress plays the wife of Sameer Soni, who is focussing on so many other aspects of marriage that she often forgets that “her equation with her husband is the most important thing and that she should pay attention to that first.'' The former Miss India finalist is also training this year's contestants from the East and she is confident that the region will send in a few pleasant surprises in the way of beauty and talent.
