Ali Fazal is set to test his stand-up comedy skills by collaborating with British actor-comedian Eddie Izzard for a stage show and special video, that will be shot in London.

The duo got friendly while filming for Stephen Frears’s upcoming Judi Dench-starrer, Victoria And Abdul, and decided to work on the video when Izzard recently arrived in India for a three-city tour.

While Ali remained unavailable for a comment, his spokesperson confirmed the news. “Ali is excited to collaborate with Eddie. The two hit it off while shooting for Victoria And Abdul and caught up when Eddie was in India. They plan to work on a stand-up comedy show post the film’s release. It will be performed in London.”

Ali will perform a 25-minute set over the hour-long show, which will be a parody on the modern day relations between Indian and Great Britain. Izzard has apparently begun scripting for the video, which will be shot in April. The show will hit the stage later this year, a source close to Ali added.

Izzard has featured in a number of international films, including Ocean’s Twelve and Mystery Men. In 2000, he earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program for his comedy special, Dress to Kill.
