When the Sanjay Dutt biopic kicked off on January 14, many were surprised to see Dia Mirza cutting the cake, along with Ranbir Kapoor who plays the title role, director Rajkumar Hirani and Vicky Kaushal who'll enact the role of Dutt's friend down from the US. “The happiest place in the world is on a @RajkumarHirani film set (sic),“ Dia, who'd made a brief appearance in Hirani's Dutt-starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai, had captioned the picture, making one wonder what she was doing in the `happiest place'.

On Saturday, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra let the cat out of the bag when he announced at the Jaipur lit fest that Dia is playing Dutt's wife Manyata.
