2017 will see the first acting talent from the illustrious Bhansali family.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to launch his sister Bela Sehgal’s elder daughter Sharmin as the leading lady in a film to be directed by Mangesh Hadawale, whose first feature film Tingya in Marathi in 2008 had fetched him huge critical and commercial success.
Incidentally, Sanjay’s two nieces Sharmin and Simran are yoked to the film fraternity from both sides of their family. While their mother Bela Sehgal and uncle Sanjay Bhansali are well-known filmmakers (Bela has edited a majority of Sanjay’s films) Sharmin and Simran’s father Deepak Sehgal is the son of prolific and popular director Mohan Sehgal, who discovered Rekha for his hit film Sawan Bhadon.
While Sharmin will be launched as an actress by her illustrious uncle, while Simran is learning filmmaking in the US.
