The filmmaker and his Kashi Bai are in talks to collaborate again following discussions on scripts for the last one year

In an earlier interview to Mirror (June 4), Priyanka Chopra had revealed that she had dates only for two movies in 2017 – one Indian and one international. The Quantico actress has been filming the second season of her American FBI drama in New York, besides Hollywood fi lm debut, Baywatch. She returned to Mumbai on December 19 for a two-week break and Mirror has learnt that while speculations are rife that PeeCee is the frontrunner to play Amrita Pritam in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sahir Ludhianvi biopic Gustakhiyan, she is actually in talks with SLB for a female-oriented drama which he is scripting. It will have two actors opposite her.

The four-time National Awardwinning filmmaker who has buried himself in the period-romance, Padmavati, featuring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, has two productions under his home banner, which he will be producing along with Gustakhiyan. “Priyanka has met and discussed scripts with seven Bollywood directors over the last four months. She is being very selective as her calendar is choc-o-bloc till 2018 since the chance of Quantico getting a third season is high,” reveals a source close to the development.

Meanwhile, PeeCee has finalised a Bhojpuri film being produced under her home banner and overseen by her mother, Madhu Chopra. Recently named the brand ambassador of Assam tourism, she took a chartered flight to Guwahati this morning after attending a party hosted by her bestie, Srishti Behl Arya, at her Juhu residence. At the time of going to press Mirror had learnt that 35 of her close friends from the industry, including SLB and two other filmmakers, Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani, and cousin Parineeti Chopra were expected to be there too.

“Priyanka will meet Bhansali again at his office next week and is expected to sign on the dotted line only in February. The duo has been discussing scripts for the last one year. They’re very fond of each other,” the source concluded.
