Gurmeet Choudhary who is still remembered as Ram in Sagar Arts’ Ramayan was recently approached to play Shiva in &TV’s show Santoshi Maa.

Interestingly, his wife Debina Bonnerjee who played Sita earlier, is on the same TV show in a double role of Poulomi and Trishna. It would have been a double casting coup for the channel had they managed to rope in Gurmeet and a treat for the couple’s many fans, but the actor turned down the mythological.

Buzz is, after playing the lead in Vishal Pandya’s recently released crime thriller, Wajah Tum Ho, Gurmeet who made his debut with Khamoshiyan earlier, no longer wants to be seen on the small screen and wants to focus on films instead. Mohit Raina of Mahadev fame was also approached for the same role but he also declined the offer. He did not want to play Shiva again.
