KAHAANI 2 had a low Monday as it showed a drop just a little under 50% from day one which is a normal Monday drop but not for a film which could not start well. The collections are 2.25 crore nett on Monday taking its total to 18.75 crore nett. The weekend did not trend as it should have with the Saturday growth not being upto the mark and when Saturday is not quite there then Sunday is always a struggle for these type of films. Also with the film being best in circuits which tend to drop more on Monday it was always on the cards that Monday would be low and that is what has happened. The film had to be around 3 crore nett, preferably more to have a chance but it has come out closer to 2 crore nett.  Below are the first four day collections of KAHAANI 2.

The first week collections of the film will come out at around 24-25 crore nett which is not much better than the first KAHAANI. Films like ROCK ON (2008) and KAHAANI (2012) is not really Hindi cinema as influences are from abroad but sadly in this era they are not just made once but repeated. If a KAHAANI (2012) somehow gets away with it, you should be really be thanking your lucky stars but instead its taken as a sign of appreciation and the audience is a given a second one when in reality no one is interested. Not just KAHAANI this rule applies to quite a few sequels recently.

KAHAANI 2 continued to drop on Tuesday after collections came down on Monday. The collections are now at low levels even in West Bengal and Mysore. It seems that the few fans the franchise may have had, have also rejected the film. Mumbai circuit has also dropped badly from Monday onward while North India was poor performer from day one. The rest never had any chance anyway. The way the film is going it will close the week at around 23-23.50 crore nett and then find it a struggle to hit 30 crore nett. The first week collections are likely to come in lower than KAHAANI (2012).  Below are the first five day collections of KAHAANI 2.
