Shakti Kapoor refutes rumours about being unhappy with Shraddha’s alleged relationship and that he recently dragged her home from the actor’s apartment

Ever since Shraddha Kapoor began shooting for the Rock On sequel late last year rumours mills have been buzzing overtime about her alleged relationship with co-star Farhan Akhtar who separated from wife Adhuna after 16 years of marriage. While the duo always denied the ‘affair’, media reports recently claimed that the actress has moved into Farhan’s bachelor pad. Upset with the live-in arrangement, her father, Shakti Kapoor, turned up at the apartment on Sunday, taking his daughter by surprise, and dragging her back to their Juhu home.

However, when Mirror got in touch with the 64-year-old actor, Shakti laughed off the reports stating that he has been holidaying with wife Shivangi since last Friday in Goa. “I came back from Goa only last evening and was shocked to read what is being reported. It’s absolute nonsense. Shraddha is a wonderful kid and I asked her to not take such gossip seriously. I have been a part of the Hindi film industry for 35 years and have been a target of many such controversies myself,” he groused.

When prodded on whether Shraddha, who was recently spotted at Farhan’s home with Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia, was dating the filmmaker-actor, he reasoned that such stories were the professional hazards they have to take in their stride. “Earlier she was working with Aditya (Roy Kapur), she was being linked with him too,” he pointed out, reiterating, “I really respect Farhan; he is a really talented boy and comes from a respectable family.”

He added that his “darling daughter” would have confided in him if there was really something. “All of us in the house share a warm, friendly equation. We don’t hide things from each other. I know the day she finds someone and wants to get married, she will tell me. And if I like the boy, I will have no problems at all,” he asserted, quick to say that Shraddha is currently focussed on her work.
