In mid-January, Abhishek Bachchan will flag off his next film, Lefty, which he is co-producing with friend Bunty Walia and will be directed by Prabhu Dheva, with a month-long schedule in Hyderabad.

A source revealed to Mirror, “The film will see Abhishek play a left-handed character (considered inauspicious by some in India) who is on a mission to save his city. A regular guy in the world’s eye, he has special powers that help him sense trouble. Abhishek and Prabhudheva met last week to discuss details of the shoot. The team will leave for a recce in Hyderabad where the story is set, sometime this week.”

The makers are looking for a relatively new face to play Abhishek’s love interest in the hero-centric project.

Interestingly, the actor is left handed in real life too and so felt the part was perfect for him. His last screen out- ing as a character with superpowers was in Goldie Behl’s 2008 fantasy-adventure, Drona.

Meanwhile, buzz is, AB Jr. will ring in New Year in Dubai with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya.
