Varun Dhawan has found his leading ladies for Judwaa 2. Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu have been paired with the actor, who plays a double role in the sequel to the 1997 Salman Khan-starrer. It took 19 years for producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director David Dhawan to team up for the sequel, and the two were keen to cast fresh pairs in it.

Varun and Jacqueline recently shared screen space in Sajid's Dishoom, but there, she was paired with John Abraham. So, it's the first time that Varun will romance her on screen. Taapsee also brings a dash of novelty, and her pairing with Varun will generate curiosity since she hasn't been seen with him before.

Sajid and David's collaboration also makes Judwaa 2 quite interesting. It has been 12 years since they teamed up for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). On the two occasions when they worked together, they not only left the audience entertained, but their films were also commercial hits. It was their friendship that kept David assured that his sons Varun and Rohit (director) were in safe hands while working on Dishoom.

BT had earlier reported that a Hollywood studio and a DOP along with action coordinator Spiros (of The Fast and The Furious series) have conducted a test shoot for the film.

A skydiving action sequence, using a stand-in artiste to depict the double role, was shot. The entertainer, scheduled to go on floors in a few weeks, will release on September 29, 2017.
