Kunal Kapoor is on cloud nine as he has three films up for release soon. From romancing Alia Bhatt in Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi to playing a warrior in National Award-winning filmmaker Jayaraj's Veeram and a soldier in Tigmanshu Dhulia's next, the actor will be essaying diverse characters in each of these movies. He says with a laugh, “I have literally travelled through time this year as I have gone from playing a 16th century warrior to a soldier in the 40s and a millennial man.“

With a number of interesting scripts coming his way, Kunal is now ready to experiment across genres and roles. He elaborates, “When I started off, I was afraid that I would fail because in our industry, failures and successes are public, and careers are fragile. Early on, some of my decisions were based on trying to feel secure. Over a period of time, I introspected about why I wanted to be here and I realised that the only thing that is important to me is to be creative. Now, all my acting choices are a reflection of this. I have also started writing and I'm developing a couple of scripts. This gives me the chance to explore different worlds and characters that fascinate me.“

Besides acting and writing, he is also avidly pursuing other interests like building a hugely successful tech company, flying planes and racing cars. Ask him how he manages to strike a balance between his varied activities and he says, “I have an insatiable curiosity. It's important that I don't limit myself and be defined only by my profession. I want to explore whatever I love.“
