It seems like there's no end to the controversies around Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide. After the late actress' friends, including Kamya Punjabi, held Pratyusha's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh responsible for her death, the latter has struck back. He has slapped a one crore defamation case against Kamya, who he believes led the group that accused him of torturing, physically abusing and finally pushing Pratyusha to commit suicide on April 1.

Rahul says, “I have filed a case against Kamya and three others in Ranchi High Court as I come from there. I want a public apology from all those who took advantage of the situation and hurled accusations at my family and me. Kamya claims to be Pratyusha's friend. If she wanted to help solve the case, she would have gone to the police and not the media. I want her to prove all the allegations she had levelled against me in court now.“

On why he chose to respond six months after Pratyusha's Pratyusha's death, he says, “I needed time to gather evidence.“

Kamya, on her part, says, “I haven't received any legal notice yet. I will decide what needs to be done once I get it. I am not scared of anyone.“
