In the list of most desirable, yet enviable, couples in Bollywood, Ajay Devgn and Kajol have always been on the top. But when her BFF Mickey Contractor first found out about the two, he didn’t take it too well. He told the hostess Kamal Sindhu on a TV show about how he reacted when Kajol first told him about getting married to Ajay. He asked Kajol, “Why? What? Why now? She was 23! The first time when she told me about him, I was quite shocked frankly because I don’t know Ajay Devgn that well. I didn’t know him that well them, maybe I know him a little better now. But just a little bit better. I never imagined Kajol and Ajay together, as a couple! She’s very different from what he is.”

Almost as if to justify her decision, Kajol rebutted saying, “I feel that it was the right thing for me to do at that point of time! I mean, I had been working already for almost 9 years, so I was ready to calm down on the work front and kind of take it easier. I was doing four to five films a year. So, I didn’t want to do tat, I didn’t want to live like that. That was not what I had set out to do. So when I got married, I assumed now that I’m going to get married, I’ll do one film a year. I’ll be happier, I’ll be more settled. That’s exactly what I wanted to do.”

Kajol also talks about the characters dear to her heart. “I identify the most probably with Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai because I was a lot like her, I was a tomboy. You know, I actually had no clue about what I should wear. She had a makeover, I also had a makeover. So, yeah, a lot of it goes around!” Speaking on the three decade long friendship she shares with Mickey, Kajol said, “It’s been a great experience, Of course being Mickey is great fun. Hopefully it translates in the show when you see what exactly is this all about.”
