There were a few Hindi releases this week but the all fared poorly with BEIIMAAN LOVE being the best collecting film as it had some collections at single screens while the others had hardly anything. It was dud week but its thats pre Diwali period when the makers don't want to release their films. Even the big Diwali films like AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL and SHIVAAY are releasing pre Diwali which will affect their initials also but occupancy will pick up markedly post Diwali. Be it M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY or INFERNO, both films were not even doing 15% occupancy on an all India basis and the new releases struggled to do half of that. The apprx opening day figures of the new releases are as follow.
Beiimaan Love - 30,00,000,
Motu Patlu: King Of Kings - 25,00,000
Saat Uchakkey - 25,00,000
Fuddu - 3,00,000
Anna - 1,00,000

INFERNO was the best collecting film of the week as it grossed around 1.75 crore nett and it is probably the only film which will get some decent growth but numbers are too low for it to do any worthwhile business.

There were a few Hindi releases this week but they all fared poorly with animation film MOTU PATLU - KING OF KINGS coming out best as it managed grow more over the weekend compared to the other films. The apprx weekend day figures of the new releases are as follow.
Motu Patlu: King Of Kings - 1,50,00,000
Beiimaan Love - 1,00,00,000
Saat Uchakkey - 1,00,00,000
Fuddu - 10,00,000
Anna - 3,00,000

INFERNO did the best out of all films released this week grossing around 6.50-6.75 crore nett over its first weekend. The collections are poor but this type of film from Hollywood has a limited market. There can be no doubts though of the inroads made by Hollywood especially over the last two years with big gains in the market share while it is the opposite for Hindi films. This is reflected by the fact that the biggest hits of 2016 outside SULTAN are THE JUNGLE BOOK and THE CONJURING 2, both of which are Hollywood releases. Both were just remarkable with THE JUNGLE BOOK crossing 187 crore nett and THE CONJURING 2 doing 60 crore nett apprx just in English language with practically zero marketing. Three Blockbuster films in 2016 and two are from Hollywood pretty much sums up 2016 as far as the Hindi films are concerned.
