The Friday this week was the worst of the year as the the new Hindi releases collected even lower than the films released last week. There were films like M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY and INFERNO having some collections last week while this week no film has managed to those collections. The total of all the Hindi and English films playing last week including holdover was around 4.75 crore nett while this week it half that at around 2.25-2.50 crore nett. The best collecting Hindi film was 31st OCTOBER though last weeks holdover MOTU PATLU - KING OF KINGS may eventually have a better second week than the first week of 31st OCTOBER. The apprx opening day figures of the new Hindi releases are as follow.
31st October - 30,00,000,
Gandhigiri - 12,00,000
1:13:7 - Ek Tera Saath - 8,00,000
Mmrisa - 2,00,000
My Father Iqbal - 1,00,000

The weekend was a very poor one at the box office as all the new films failed to make a mark with 31st OCTOBER having the best collections. The animation film MOTU PATLU - KING OF KINGS has done fair business and will be among the top three animation films in Hindi. The film grossed around 1 crore nett in its second weekend taking its lifetime business to around 4 crore nett. The film is showing a weekly drop of around 50%. The film had opened very poorly but is the only film in the last few weeks to have some trend. Its getting fair occupancy on Saturday and Sunday's due to family audiences. The apprx opening day figures of the new Hindi releases are as follow.
31st October - 1,10,00,000
Gandhigiri - 40,00,000
1:13:7 - Ek Tera Saath - 25,00,000
Mmrisa - 7,50,000
My Father Iqbal - 3,00,000

There were many English films playing but none are doing good business be it JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK (Week One), INFERNO (Week Two) or THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN (Week Two). JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK grossed 3.50 crore nett over its first weekend. There was even a South Korean film TRAIN TO BUSAN released and the collections were a total disaster. The film was screened in English and even dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu which was just pointless.
