PINK remained steady on Tuesday with collections in the same range as Monday. The collections of the film are almost ditto of NEERJA barring the first day where NEERJA collected 50 lakhs nett more. That film eventually grossed 72 crore nett but it had tax exemptions come into play from as many as 6 states which boosted its nett business by around 10 crore. The competition for PINK is weak this week though there are many films releasing but none seem to have box office potential on their theatrical promos though maybe word of mount can help them. This will allow another solid week for the film before M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY arrives. The first five day business of PINK is as follows.
Friday - 4,19,00,000
Saturday - 7,50,00,000
Sunday - 9,50,00,000
Monday - 3,75,00,000
Tuesday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 28,44,00,000 apprx
PINK is doing very well on weekdays in the main circuits of Mumbai (only circuit to have a drop on Monday) and North and this should enable the film go to around 35 crore nett over the week.
------------------
PINK has scored very well at high end multiplexes to record good first week collections. The first week collections of the film are 35.75 crore nett apprx The film had a decent weekend but the trend did suggest good weekday holds but they have been better than could have been expected with Thursday being very similar to the business on Monday. The collections of the film were slightly less than NEERJA over the weekend but have finished the week higher than that film. This basically suggests better lifetime business than NEERJA but the tax exemptions for NEERJA may get in the way so a better comparison will be GROSS business. The film has fared best in Mumbai, Pune Delhi NCR, East Punjab, Kolkata and Bangalore. Outside these places the business is average to poor due to less presence of high collecting multiplexes.
