Judging by the number of films Salman Khan is doing
with Kabir Khan, once can safely assume that he is the actor’s favourite
director. After Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the
under-production Tubelight, this pair will come together for Atul and
Alvira Agnihotri’s next home production starring Salman.
Says a source, “Salman has immense faith in Kabir as a filmmaker and after two blockbuster hits in ETT and BB, the comfort level has only grown stronger with Tubelight. And when Atul and Alvira were looking out for a director to helm their next project, Salman suggested Kabir’s name. He has become like a family member to the Khans. Another director Salman has worked with that often is Sooraj Barjatya, who gave Salman his first hit Maine Pyaar Kiya. They also worked together in Hum Aapke Hain... Koun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.”
Rajkumar Santoshi was to direct Atul and Alvira’s next production, but that didn’t work out. Salman is happy that Kabir is now at the helm and the director comes on board after the completion of Tubelight and another film based on the 1983 World Cup victory, which goes on the floors later this year.
