Finally the results are out! It’s a pleasure to announce that Fenil’s Half Yearly Awards is getting bigger and bigger as each year passes. I did expect that there would be an increase in the number of voters this year. Yet, I was highly and pleasantly surprised! A bigggg thank you to all the people who took out time to vote and to also recommend to their movie buff friends, colleagues and acquaintances!

Now to the results! It was an unpredictable situation in certain categories and the clear winner was difficult to anticipate till the last day! In few cateogies, the winner was clear. Udta Punjab started slow but as the days, it's number of votes started increasing significantly in almost all the categories. Finally, it emerged victorious in 8 categories - Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor In a Leading Role (Male), Best Supporting Actor (Male), Best Music, Best Lyricist and Best F Playback Singer. Rishi Kapoor was leading initially in the Best Supporting Actor category but Satish Kaushik defeated him by just 20 votes. In Best Supporting Actress category, Ratna Pathak Shah won as she got just 8 votes more than Shabana Azmi! Sonam Kapoor's performance was considered award-winning in Neerja but while she got 21.76% votes, it was Alia who went ahead and bagged 47.52% votes. Neerja shockingly failed to win a single vote. The 2 other favourite films of the year - Airlift and Kapoor & Sons - won in just 1 category each. When it came to Best Debutants, the Sanam Teri Kasam jodi - Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane - came out with flying colours. Mawra in fact garnered 64.95% votes in Best Debut (Female) - the highest %age of votes won by anyone this year.
