Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal have worked together in many superhit films. Their last screen outings was OMG: Oh My God (2012) and now after four years, they will be reunited in a Rohit Shetty production. The untitled film being directed by Priyadarshan will bring Akshay and Paresh together. Rohit has never worked with Akshay, while Priyan has directed Akshay and Paresh in various successful films like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhaag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and De Dana Dan, etc. This film will mark the comeback of the Akshay-Priyan-Paresh combination which was last seen in De Dana Dan (2007).

While there is talk of Hera Pheri 3, which has Paresh and Akshay (apart from Suniel Shetty), the film is yet to start. A source tells us, “Akshay will play a loud, fun-loving Punjabi character in Rohit’s production. The shooting will start from April next year and take place in Mumbai and Punjab. Paresh has been busy with politics ever since he won the Lok Sabha ticket for the BJP and has done very few films, but he and Priyan are friends, so the actor is making time for this film. He plays a pivotal role in the film.”

It will mark the return of Priyadarshan back into Bollywood after a gap of three years. His last film was Rangrezz (2013) starring Jackky Bhagnani, after which he had taken a break. Priyadarshan confirms, “The film is being written by me and Chennai Express writer Yunus. The actress is yet to be finalised. After three years of silence, I made Oppam (2016), which is the biggest hit of my career. Its success is so inspiring. It’s time to come to Bollywood again.”
