Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen as Raja Raval Ratan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious historical Padmavati, has demanded a pay hike. Earlier, he had told the filmmaker to make his role as strong as Ranveer Singh who will be playing Sultan Aladdin Khilji smitten by Padmavati (Deepika Padukone). Since Shahid will be seen as Deepika’s husband, that is considered to be the second lead, he wanted his role also to be meaty. Now, we hear he wants a hike in his remuneration. A source reveals, “Shahid will be paid around Rs 8-10 crore for Padmavati which is the highest he has got till date. Usually, Shahid gets paid around Rs 6-7 crore, but for this film he is getting a higher amount and the reason behind it is that he is playing the second lead. Also, there was no other actor who was ready to play the role of Raja Raval Ratan Singh and SLB was left with no option but to pay this huge amount to Sasha.”
