After helming Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani, Pradeep Sarkar was said to be toying with the idea of a sequel to the 2014 thriller. But, we hear the veteran filmmaker is now planning a project titled Dabba Gul, which will star Amitabh Bachchan. The Yash Raj production will also feature another actor — possibly Varun Dhawan.

Says a source, “Big B has given his nod to the film. Varun has also been approached, but he is yet to confirm his presence, given his packed diary. Yash Raj is known to wrap its projects in secrecy, so those associated with the project have been asked to keep mum until he is officially on board.”

It would be interesting to see Big B with Dhawan Jr. The veteran superstar had featured in his father David Dhawan’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) and Hum Kisise Kum Nahin (2002). Meanwhile, he has also given his nod to another Yash Raj production, reportedly titled Thug, which will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya as reported, ‘Aamir, Big B in cool coup’ (hitlist, August 9).
