Salman Khan’s Judwaa remake will feature Varun Dhawan. At a recent event, the film’s producer Sajid Nadiadwala told the media, “The script of Judwaa 2 is 70 per cent ready. We start shooting early next year. There will be two heroines in the film, but the cast is not yet finalised.”

But a source close to the production reveals the big secret. “Sajid has asked Jacqueline Fernandez to come on board as one of the heroines opposite Varun. People loved her and Varun’s chemistry in Dishoom although they weren’t paired opposite each other in the film. Sajid felt it’s the right pair for the film and Jackie being an in-house favourite (she was also in Kick and Housefull 3) was his immediate go-to person.”

While the script has retained the same basic idea of Judwaa — the double roles, the two leading ladies and the comedy of errors laced with action, it is being modernised a bit. Our source tells us, “Varun will play double roles, while Jackie has been offered Karisma’s part from the original. Casting for Rambha’s part is still on.”

The insider added, “Jackie is taking a call on the film. Mostly, she will be doing it because it’s a big film with great recall value. Plus, it’s Nadiadwala Productions, which is more like her home turf. She’s now busy working out the schedules of her next few films so that she can green-light Judwaa 2.”
