Gabru Ready To Mingle Hai is the latest promo video by Mika Singh in Diana Penty’s comeback film, Happy Bhag Jayegi. The irony about the raucous party number is that the title has been borrowed from the singer’s 2001 album, Gabru.

Produced by D Records and written by Punjabi songwriter POP, the song made some noise back then as it became a phenomenon with the Indian diaspora.

Mika says, “I released the original Gabru track in 2001. I didn’t expect it to become such a hit that people were printing Gabru on T-shirts and putting it behind their cars and tractors.”

With Gabru Ready To Mingle Hai catching on, won’t the Bollywood song be confused with Mika’s Punjabi number?

He reasons, “The original track was fast-paced, complete with attitude, and the new Gabru is a romantic track.”
