The way to Hrithik Roshan’s heart is through dance, and that’s how Shakti Mohan, winner of a dance reality show, had a long-standing ambition fulfilled. The 30-year-old, a mentor on Dance+, showed off hot moves when Hrithik visited the show’s sets with Mohenjo Daro co-star Pooja Hegde to promote the film on Wednesday. So impressed was Duggu that he promised to match steps with her in a music single.
Says a source, “Hrithik has been Shakti’s dance idol since his Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai [debut film, 2000] days. When she got to know that he would be visiting the set, she created an audio-visual with family and friends talking about her craze for the actor. She then grooved with him to the You are My Soniya dance number from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.” Later, during a conversation on stage, Hrithik promised his fangirl a music single opposite him sooner or later. “He even commented that he needs rehearsals to match up to Shakti,” reveals the source, adding that the star also offered Shakti’s co-mentor, Punit Pathak, to choreograph the single.
When we got in touch with Shakti, she said, “I am a diehard Hrithik fan and it will be a dream come true to feature in a music single with him. I was at a loss for words when I met him in person. He is among the few Bollywood actors, who understand dance at the most basic level.”
The contemporary dancer, who won the second season of Dance India Dance, tweeted, “Met the crush of my life on #DancePlus2 Bestest hottest cutest @ iHrithik Total fan girl moment."
She is set to make her Hindi film debut in a Remo D’Souza project. She will play the lead alongside Salman Yusuff Khan, choreographer-turned-participant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
