Ever since Fever's trailer
was launched, the suspense element and the high-octane action sequences
have been talked about as the key elements of this thriller. This Rajeev
Jhaveri directorial features Rajeev Khandelwal along with three
beautiful women - Gauahar Khan, Bond girl Caterina Murino (of Casino
Royale fame) and Gemma Atkinson. Says the director, “Several elements
have been added in the film to provide viewers an adrenaline rush. They
can watch the movie without losing their interest till the end.“
Since the ending is the most crucial aspect of a suspense thriller, as it has to be adequately justified by the twists and turns, the director ensured none of his actors knew how the plot unravels. He says, “We have worked hard to maintain that suspense and reach the climax without anyone being able to guess it. I can safely say that it is impossible for anyone to guess the end.“
The story revolves around the lead characters playing a game of deceit to entrap each other. Rajeev and Gauahar were more than ready to back the director's vision and follow the script. With a spy element in the film, Jhaveri decided to cast Caterina who has worked in a Bond film before. On the other hand, to make the story believable it was essential to have characters and actors who were locals. Gemma is not only a famous lingerie model but also a popular English actress and that's the reason the film's makers opted to cast her in this thriller. Victor Banerjee and Ankita Makwana too play important roles in the film.
Jhaveri elaborates that locations add character to the story and that is why they shot extensively in Switzerland. He says, “It's a nail-biting experience to watch a suspense thriller as it always builds up the anticipation and uncertainty amongst the audience. The place is beautiful and lonely at the same time. It was a unique experience for the cast and crews who had seen the picturesque valleys, but the countryside had a very different story to tell.“
Given the significance of crisp editing for a thriller, the director proudly states that they've ensured tautness in the film to keep audiences hooked till the end. “The editing of course plays a huge part in keeping the suspense and the momentum going. I'm happy with the way the thriller has shaped up.“
Fever, presented by Karan Devgan (Niche Film Farm) and Rajath Manjunath (Jaya Sapthagiris Productions) in association with Ravi Agrawal (Plus Entertainment Pvt Ltd) and Ajay Chabbria (ICM Entertainment Pvt Ltd), releases August 5.
