At 6 am on Sunday, the central bench on platform number 7 of the Goregaon railway station doubled up as a makeshift makeup room so Sonakshi Sinha could get her touch-up done.

Next to her was Noor-director Sunhil Sippy on a wireless, instructing the motorman to go back and forth with his 12-coach train. The ticket counters at the end of the platform had been shut; Sona's vanity van was parked near the entrance. The makers had booked the entire train for the day-long shoot, which wrapped up around 4pm.

In Noor, based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz's novel, Karachi, You're Killing Me!, Sonakshi plays the eponymous journalist who travels by the local every day. The summer-2017 release is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Vikram Malhotra.

The makers had been hoping for a downpour given the inclement weather over the last few weeks, but it turned out to be a rare, sunny day. "The unit had to make do with artificial rains, with pipes fixed to the platform ceilings, since Sonakshi was required to get completely drenched for the scene," an onlooker from the sets informed Mirror.

Because of the Sunday megablock, the team had expected empty platforms too but news of the golden girl had spread far and wide and there were star-gazers gathered on the overhead bridge as well as the platforms three and four, as Sona turned into a commoner in blue. "Managing the crowd was a pain but watching Sona handle them was a pleasure," the source concluded.
