SULTAN did excellent business on day two with business set to be very close to the first day with business in the 36 crore nett region. The two day business will be in the 72-73 crore nett region. The film has actually gained in North India, Central India and Nizam/Andhra but when the final collections come from Mumbai circuit later on they may take the all India total a little lower than the first day.

Normally there is a 15-20% drop on the day after the Eid holiday but here there is hardly a drop as Eid actually fell a day later than the official holiday had been announced. This is also why the collections are all over the place with each circuit behaving differently depending on the holiday situation..

It is looking as per early estimates that it is the second time that a film has managed to score two days over 35 crore nett. The first being BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN last year which was over 35 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday. DHOOM 3 is the only film to score three days of over 30 crore nett and that is what SULTAN can do or maybe even one better and a historic 4 or even 5 days of over 30 crore nett. But that will depend on where the films lands today.

The business is excellent all over but it is record breaking in East Punjab while Delhi/UP is playing catch up due to day one being Ramzan but the film is looking set for a fantastic run in North India. It was historic in North India on day two with business similar to PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO record breaking day one. CI amd Nizam/Andhra also created history with the highest figures ever for any day in both circuits.
------------------------------
SULTAN continued to create history on its second day with some all time circuit records. It has also managed to record two of the highest single days of all time. The only film to have two days in the top five, all others have one. Below are the top five single days in history.
1. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Day One - 39.32 crore
2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan Day Three - 38.53 crore
3. PK Day Three - 38.24 crore
4. Sultan Day Two - 37 crore apprx
5. Sultan Day One - 36.59 crore

The list is dominated with Salman Khan starrers with PK the only exception. As SULTAN has a second day similar to first it has chances of getting five days above 30 crore nett which has never happened before but will depend on the drops over the next two days.
------------------------------
SULTAN hit five all time circuit records on day two. The circuits below not only set the highest second day figures ever but were the highest figures ever seen in these circuits on any day.
East Punjab - 4,01,00,000
Rajasthan - 2,56,00,000
CI - 1,81,00,000
Nizam/Andhra - 2,95,00,000
Odisha - 51,00,000

Delhi/UP was very close to an all time record missing by around 20 lakhs. The weekend is almost certain to be a record now as it goes past 100 crore to become only the second film to hit a century in three days after BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN.
------------------------------
SULTAN was excellent again on day three with business of 31.50 crore nett apprx as per early estimates which has taken its three day weekend business to around the 105 crore nett which is an all time record for Hindi cinema. The drop on day three is 15% which is excellent as its coming of a holiday period though in some parts the Eid factor is still helping collections and this will ease slowly over the weekend.

The film is still going up and down in the various circuits and it will be Monday that the circuits will come done to the more normal ratios. On day three Mumbai, Rajasthan and Nizam/Andhra all held very well, Delhi/UP was phenomenal as it did better than the first day while East Punjab which smashed all records in the first two days had the biggest drop.

The third day has ensured the film is the biggest hit of the year although that's not really saying much when AIRLIFT, the biggest hit of the year prior to SULTAN only did well only in the main cities meaning its hardly competition for a real Hindi film like SULTAN.

Its difficult to say where the collections will go today as there is no precedence in the recent past to how Eid has fallen and then the fourth day being a Saturday which is a day where some circuit shows healthy gains. But here its not the second day but fourth day which should makes gains harder.
------------------------------
SULTAN has created a new ALL TIME RECORD for the first weekend by collecting over 105 crore nett approx in three days. It beats the record of last years Eid release BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN. Below are the top ten opening three day weekends.
1. Sultan - 105.50 crore apprx
2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan - 101.42 crore
3. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - 97.63 crore
4. Dhoom 3 - 97.25 crore
5. PK - 93.82 crore
6. Happy New Year - 93.16 crore
7. Chennai Express - 86.28 crore
8. Kick - 80.13 crore
9. Singham Returns - 76.82 crore
10. Dilwale - 63.82 crore

It has been second time the century mark mark has been crossed in three days. The opening weekends are dominated by Salman Khan starrers with the top three films all belonging to him which again shows his present domination of the box office.

As a star its the opening records that matter, most important is opening day where Salman Khan holds the top two and that is followed by weekend where he now holds top three.
