Emraan Hashmi is buying property in Dubai as a holiday home option. It is learnt he will opt for an apartment in the city rather than a sea-facing one like other Bollywood celebrities have.

A source close to the actor shares, “Emi has a bungalow in Goa and some properties in Mumbai, but has wanted to invest in Dubai for some time now. The emirate has no property tax and has good rental options. Moreover, buying and selling options are far more simple there. As a regular traveller to the UAE, he would otherwise stay in hotels.”

Adds the source, “For now, he is interested in picking up an apartment on a 99-year lease, which is how properties on offer are sold. Emraan has looked at a few properties and zeroed in on a few and will finalise a deal soon. The apartment he’s keen on is on Sheikh Zayed Road, which has big hotels and good restaurants and is considered one of the city’s hotspots. It is also one of the roads that links the old section (Diera) to the new (Jumeira). The idea is to make a long-term property investment. Unlike other stars, who invest and then sell their property, Emraan has no immediate plans of doing so.”
