Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 14, 2016)
Mirror had earlier reported (January 13) that Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming film Raagdesh, was to flag off earlier this month in Dehradun. But, it will now roll in Film City by June-end with Kunal Kapoor and Mohit Marwah in the lead.
"We are looking for another leading man and a big name is expected to come on board by next week. It took us two months to find the right actors and another 10 months went into research. We are consulting historians and experts from the armed forces," informs Sujay Shankarawar, MD of Tigmashu's company and the film's co-producer, who is a partner of Gurdeep Singh Suppal of Rajya Sabha TV.
Raagdesh recreates the Indian National Army (INA) Trials or The Red Fort Trials of 1945. Colonel Prem Sehgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan, officers in the British Indian Army who were taken prisoners of war in Malaya, Singapore and Burma respectively, were court-martialled in the capital.
