In Los Angeles at the moment, Sonam Kapoor has gone silent about her day’s activities. And that’s a far cry from the social media-savvy actress who posts daily updates for the benefit of fans, sharing everything about where she’s travelling to, who she’s wearing and where she’s dining, et al.

Could it be that the actress is there on a work trip? “Highly likely,” says a source close to her. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have made inroads into Hollywood, can Sonam be far behind? Her dad Anil Kapoor has agents there and he is very close to many people in the film business. Through her dad, a lot of people know of Sonam, and some even know her from her last trip to LA with Anil.”

Says a source, “Everybody close to Sonam is being tight-lipped about her trip. Buzz is that she has gone to LA for an audition. Travel partner and sister Rhea hasn’t accompanied her on the trip. And since the sisters clearly vacation and party together, Rhea’s absence also points to this being a work trip.”
