Sona Mohapatra faced backlash from Salman Khan fans after she tweeted against the actor's rape remark. "Women thrashed, people run over, wildlife massacred and yet hero of the nation. Unfair. India is full of such supporters," she shared online.

Moments after she hit post on her tweet, the 40-year-old singer was hit by a barrage of abuses from Bhai fans, accusing her of being publicity-hungry and pointing out that she isn't a part of the Indian judiciary to make such statements. Sona hit back at the trolls, posting, "Dear Bhai chamchas, you continue to prove my point with every perverted, sick, cheap message you write to me."
