Work commitment forces him to skip annual trip with wife and children

Ajay Devgn isn’t one to miss his children, Yug and Nysa’s birthdays or even holidays with them and wife Kajol. This year, however, he will not be join to join them for the annual family vacation, as he is busy with the post-production work of his home production Shivaay, which releases on Diwali this year.

Says a source, “Kajol, Yug and Nysa flew off to London from where they will travel to Germany and will spend two weeks there. Ajay feels miserable about missing this personal time with his family. The only consolation being that, in March this year, Kajol and the kids flew to Bulgaria where he was shooting for Shivaay, so they had a kind of mini-vacation.”

Shooting for Shivaay is complete but a day of patchwork remains. Moreover, “Being the producer and director, Ajay has to be involved in every aspect of the film’s creation. He has been working obsessively almost 18-20 hours a day, so he can release the film in time for Diwali. Shivaay has been mounted on a grand scale, so AJ wants to make sure that each detail is minutely planned. Post the film’s release, he plans to take a vacation with Kajol and the kids before he plunges into his next film.”

Says Ajay, “Nobody needs a holiday more than I do. Sometimes, one has to sacrifice personal preferences to achieve the unachievable. I have not been able to spend adequate quality time with my family for nearly a year as I have been engrossed in shooting Shivaay. I’d love to be on a holiday with my family at the moment, but the timelines are more compelling to finish my film on time.”
