A month back, there were strong reports suggesting that Hrithik Roshan has been finalised for the official Hindi remake of Rambo. But the actor isn’t part of the project and Sidharth Malhotra might step into the action movie.
Reveals an insider, “Talks with Hrithik didn’t materialise and then Siddharth Anand, the director, approached Sidharth Malhotra to star in his ambitious project. It will be an official remake of the hit series starring Sylvester Stallone.”
The khabri also adds that although both the Sids met and discussed the project, “Sidharth has liked the idea of the film but everything needs to be in place before he signs it. He is currently busy shooting his next action film with Jacqueline, post which he has the Ittefaq remake and Aashiqui 3 lined up. So both of them need to plan the entire thing before making an announcement.”
The action flick will be yet another action franchise, confirms the source. “It will be a three-film series and will redefine the way Indian perceive action in Bollywood.” If all goes well, Sid will replace Hrithik as the desi Rambo. But the film won’t go on floors before 2017-end.
