The actor-turned-director crossover is now commonplace in Hindi cinema and the latest celeb to join the bandwagon is Richa Chadha. The Masaan actress, however, isn’t trying her hand at making a feature film, but a socially-relevant documentary, we hear.
Sources reveal that her film revolves around trafficked women and their struggles to escape flesh trade. “Richa has conceptualized the documentary and wants to motivate women to come out of the illegal business,” says a source.
Richa apparently has been interviewing some of the rescued girls and women in and around Mumbai for her documentary. “Most of it has already been shot. She has also enlisted the help of an NGO to complete the project,” the source informs.
Richa confirms the story and says, “Yes, I am making a documentary to spread awareness against this illicit business and encourage trafficking survivors to start afresh. I am planning to release it by the month-end.”
