Noted Bollywood playback singer Mubarak Begum has been hospitalised after complaining of weakness and stomach-ache. She was admitted to a suburban Andheri hospital on May 3, informed a family member, adding that the doctors have said that there is a small hole in her heart.

Begum, who sang "Kabhi tanhaiyon mein hamari yaad ayegi," from Hamari Yaad Aayegi, has'nt been well for the last few years. Through the 1950-1960s, she worked with the best music directors, including with S D Burman, Shankar Jaikishan and Khayyam.
