(Crisp) Movie Review: PHOBIA by FENIL SETA

Phobia is a very unconventional psychological thriller and horror film that surely engages viewers from the very first scene. It is less than 100 minutes long and director Pavan Kirpalani handles it very well. The horror quotient never goes over the top and some scenes indeed give a chill down the spine. The climax is quite unpredictable as well. On the flipside, the writing is weak and several questions are left unanswered because of which one doesn’t come out fully satisfied. Radhika Apte is terrific and plays the role of a character suffering from agrophobia amazingly. Satyadeep Misra (Shaan) provides able support. Yashaswini Dayma (Nikki) plays a very cool character and it adds a nice touch to the film. Ankur Vikal (Manu) is quite intriguing. If only the loose ends were taken care of, Phobia would have been a cult horror film of Bollywood!
My rating - *** out of 5!
