Hrithik Roshan's legal team spoke to BT about how the actor had gone
through a long period of harassment in his legal case against Kangana
Ranaut. On Wednesday, Kangana's lawyer issued a counter statement

WHAT KANGANA'S LAWYER HAS TO SAY...
In the counter statement, Kangana's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has said, “Hrithik Roshan and his PR team are going to extreme lengths to tarnish the name and image of my client Kangana Ranaut in all possible ways, only in an effort to pressurise her and get her to surrender.“ He adds, “However, Hrithik Roshan has to fully realise that my client will never retreat nor surrender, or ever succumb to any pressure. Hrithik Roshan also needs to fully understand that he cannot morally, ethically or legally stop my client from exercising her right to obtain a copy of the FIR.Therefore, planting false and misleading stories in the media that my client is not cooperating with the police shall not help in any way.“
Siddiquee continues, “Till date, we have been following the procedures of law in all respects and shall continue to do so. Hrithik Roshan knows fully well that Section 160 of CRPC intends to protect the privacy of a woman, and therefore, she cannot be summoned to the police station as a witness to record her statement. Despite knowing the provisions of law, he and his PR team are immorally and unethically spreading stories to the media to ensure that the media is always present around the venue where my client is scheduled to record her statements. These acts, coupled with the acts of showing my client's private emails to the media, only prove his thought process. In any event, he had waited for almost two years without bothering about any imposter so far, and his fight was only to do with my client's remark about a 'Silly Ex'. Why has he abandoned that fight? Has he surrendered, or does he not have any answers to my counter notice?“

A source close to Kangana says, “What does Hrithik want? He is so confused. If you followed the media reports at the start, you would have noticed he was making statements saying 'I have nothing against Kangana, I am after the impostor.' However, a couple of days ago, when a member of his legal team spoke up, he was attacking Kangana. He was saying she is obsessive, clingy and has signs of a mental illness. Hrithik seems to have had a change of attitude. Why has he gone from 'protector' to 'attacker?' Where is the 'gentlemanliness'?'' The source further states, “Kangana has done nothing in the interim. She has not issued any anti-Hrithik statements. Her legal team has not spoken about Hrithik's mental or physical health. Or made comments on his social behaviour.'' Coming to the topic of this mysterious impostor, the source adds, “Why is Hrithik worried about the impostor misusing his identity only to romance women? This person could have also been using this fake identity for transactions, contracts, confidential details and for so many other malpractices. An impostor can't have just one agenda. So why is he not worried about any other aspect? It is equally impossible to prove the existence of the impostor when there are no records. That account has been inactive for the longest time now. It is also strange that the impostor is neither blackmailing Kangana nor Hrithik. That person is not causing any harm to either of them. What is he currently implying? That Kangana has gone mad? That she has been in correspondence with an impostor who is also mad?

She is a self-made girl who has shootings to go to, films to complete and a hundred other things to attend to. Also, she needs to study the contents of that FIR before giving her statement. A member of Hrithik's legal team says, “Instead of issuing new statements every day that are about fighting, being strong and a sense of bravado, we request them to adopt a more sensible approach. Let's begin the process of law. Cyber Crime Cell has repeatedly requested them to record their statement at the place of their convenience. What is their problem in that? It's not about who is a better fighter here. It's about who is speaking the truth and who is speaking lies. We are committed to bring the truth out. We are not interested in fighting Kangana Ranaut. On the contrary, Hrithik only has compassion for Kangana in spite of being harassed. He is not understanding why if she has been tricked by an impostor, is she not wanting to find out the truth herself.“
