Shefali Shah who took up
painting six-seven years ago is all set to display her artwork, titled 'Perspective', for the first time at an art exhibition in the Capital
today. “They select new artists every year to showcase at the exhibition.
Two senior painters will be putting up their works
alongside mine,“ says the actress who will give the exhibition a miss.
“I am shooting for a film but honestly, I am happy about not going. I am nervous, maybe,“ she laughs, adding that she will be present for the Mumbai leg of the exhibition, to be held sometime in June or July. After picking it up from a friend, Shefali continued to practise at the Julius Macwan studio under the guidance of tutor Karuna. “I find it therapeutic. I mostly stick to black, white and grey. When I need a pop of colour, red is my go-to hue,“ she says.
Shefali has found support in producer-husband Vipul Shah and their two sons. “My sons paint too and are very proud of me. Vipul wanted to use one of my paintings in a film but I refused. Some of them are displayed in the office though,“ she signs off.
