Last Friday, the Cyber Crime
Cell withdrew its summons to Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli to
visit them and record their statements in a case filed by Hrithik Roshan
about an alleged fake email address created in his name. On April 1,
they sent the actress an email asking her for a convenient date, time
and place
so that they could interview her for the same. However, it's been four
days since then but the actress hasn't responded to them as she is yet
to get the copy of the FIR. Kangana's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee says,
“Despite innumerable requests, the police has failed to provide the copy
of the FIR and other relevant documents which they are duty-bound to
give to my client who is the concerned party.“
He explains, “The department needs to understand that we are not asking
for any investigation report, but merely exercising our rights as has
been provided for under the Statute. Why are they unnecessarily making
this into citizens rights vs police duties battle?“ Rizwan sums up by
saying, “Under these circumstances, it is not fair for my client to
participate in any investigation whilst her own rights are being
malafidely prejudiced by the police.“
