With Maharashtra facing a severe drought, Bollywood celebrities like Nana Patekar have come forward to provide financial assistance and ease the situation. Akshay Kumar, who is always in the forefront when it comes to providing aid to people struck by calamities has donated Rs 50 lakh for Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan that is aimed at making the villages drought-proof and will also involve construction of ponds in farms to harvest water. Earlier too, inspired by Nana he had distributed a sum of Rs 90 lakh to financially help 180 families of those farmers who had committed suicide. A few months ago, when Chennai was struck by heavy rains Akshay had extended a helping hand to the rain ravaged people of the city by donating Rs 1 crore for relief work. Clearly, this macho star has his heart in the right place.
