The actress who has begun shooting for M Night Shyamalan's TV show admits she is already homesick

Nimrat Kaur has begun
filming for the second season of M Night Shyamalan's Wayward Pines, and
informs that the first-day shoot was with Jason Patric whose wife she
plays. “Jason is a sweet guy, a bit reserved but our work aesthetics are
the same. The shoot was in Coquitlam's Riverview Hospital which used to
be an institution and has an eerie, haunted feel. Luckily, it was a day
shoot because such locations terrify me. I kept chanting the Hanuman
Chalisa in my vanity van,“ she admits. In the scene Jason's character is
unaware of their whereabouts, only her character
knows where they are and this lends it an intense, mysterious feel.
“It's a futuristic show. What I like best about my character is that she
could be from anywhere, there's no mention of ethnicity. It's colour
blind casting,“ Nimrat points out.
The actress who turned 34 on Sunday
admits to feeling homesick already. Speaking to Mirror from Vancourver
she says, “It has
been raining heavily since I landed here. I'm looking for an apartment so
I was house-hunting even on my birthday. This is the first time I'm
ringing it in away from my family and friends and it's, well different.
But I can't wait to explore the Surrey part of Vancouver where there are
lots of Indians, I've heard you get amazing chhole bhature there and I
really miss desi khana.“
Nimrat will be in Vancouver for a couple of months since she's signed up for season two and three. Meanwhile there's a Bollywood script which she likes. “But whether I can take it up or not will depend on my show's schedule. I want to move away from serious stuff and do a comedy next. That should be fun.“
