After launching Sooraj
Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in Nikhil Advani's Hero, Salman Khan is now
gearing up to introduce a friend's son, Zaheer, as the lead in the Hindi
adaptation of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer Punjabi romcom,
Jatt And Juliet. “Himesh Reshammiya had the
rights to the original and narrated the story to Salman who loved it and
decided to make it in Hindi,“ informs a source, adding that Zaheer has
begun prepping up for his debut vehicle.
Released in 2012, Jatt & Juliet was an instant hit and was quickly followed up with a sequel the next year. Its Hindi adaptation won't be a direct remake but will borrow from the basic premise. “Salman has been closely associated with the Hindi version, in particular the music score. He has already approved five-six songs,“ reveals the source. The film is produced by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, choreographer-filmmaker Ahmed Khan is the director. The search for the female lead is on. The makers are looking to cast a fresh face. The film is scheduled to go on the floors in a few months.
