The actress is set to feature as a spinster in actor-writer Kapil Sharma's directorial debut, which will 
be a youth-based web series

Kapil Sharma, who wrote and featured in the 2010 bilingual, Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyon, is set to turn director with a youth-based web series, Love, Life and Screw Ups!!!. The show marks veteran actress Zeenat Aman's debut on the digital platform. "International shows are gaining popularity in India but we don't have even one such show of our own; something cool and funny which the youth can connect with. Our story is a light-hearted take on eight friends and their relationship struggles," says Kapil, who began writing the series last August.

Zeenat plays a spinster named Joana who befriends youngsters and deals with her own messed up life. "We were looking for a glamorous actress with great comic timing and Zeenatji fit the bill perfectly. She is a diva who can connect with any generation," says Kapil, who had to wait for two months before he got to meet the 64-year-old actress.

He admits that she was unsure about going digital but was hooked when she heard the concept, even remarking that "this could have been a movie!" They will commence shooting in a start-to-finish schedule in a few weeks.

The show will be aired with English subtitles keeping the global audience in mind.

Zeenat is taking an active interest in her styling. "Her look is inspired from the '70s, she'll be seen in long skirts and scarves," reveals Kapil, adding that casting for the rest of the characters is currently on.

Will we see him act in the series as well? "There is a character for me but we are still exploring that opportunity," he laughs.
