They were one of the most loved couple on screen. With
Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor gained instant stardom
and the film’s success at the box office made them one of the hottest
jodis of the year. Off screen too Aditya and Shraddha were seeing each
other. Their love story started off on a bumpy note, had a good run, but
the end wasn’t rosy. Aditya and Shraddha didn’t get along well when
they started working together. He was an introvert, media shy, a recluse
who didn’t like to interact with the press unless he had a movie. She
on the other hand was outgoing, bursting with energy, wanting to do
different things. However, once the sparks kindled there was no
separating these two. Aditya was often spotted at Shraddha’s house and
vice-versa. They even took off for secret vacations away from the prying
eyes of the media.
But there were several problems in their relationship. It appears that Shraddha’s family never approved of Aditya. Her mom was of the opinion that he was too much of a distraction for her and since Shraddha’s career was just taking off, a relationship would only burden her.
Aditya’s family on the other hand was quite fond of Shraddha and his sister-in-law Vidya Balan has often spoken fondly of her. But things couldn’t move ahead unless both the families approved of this relationship. There was also the success factor with Shraddha’s delivering a hat trick with Ek Villain, Haider and then ABCD 2, while Aditya not able to do the same with the critically panned Daawat-E-Ishq. Common friends reveal that the two also had several fights.
While their relationship status as of now is “on a break”, their friends don’t dissuade the idea that there might be a reconciliation in the near future.
